The Fire Safety Order of 2005 requires ensuring that employees are provided with adequate and suitable fire safety training including awareness and Fire Marshal training.
Fire Safety training within any working environment is a legal requirement under the order.
The Fire Safety training course covers the role of the designated fire marshal/warden.

Eligibility
✅To be eligible for the Fire Marshal Certificate, you need to be over 16 years old and have completed the 4-hour Fire Marshal Training

The training course runs for 4 hours, and you will be assessed on your learning through multiple-choice exams at the end of each unit.
Who is it for?
The course is aimed at anyone involved in the management of fire safety in any workplace.
This includes managers, supervisors, team leaders, fire wardens (marshals), and staff working in any area where there is a potential risk of fire.
Fire safety training is also necessary when new employees are moved into a building or changes have been made to the emergency plan than the preventative and protective measures.
Fire safety training is also advised when working practices and processes or people’s responsibilities have changed or any risks in a building have changed. If a disabled person has been employed or a new member of staff has undertaken the role of a duty manager or fire marshal.

Learner requirements
There are no formal entry requirements although learners are expected to have a level of literacy which will enable them to benefit from the teaching materials and complete the assessment.
Certificate Renewal
The Fire Marshal Certificate is only valid for three years. After this period, you can either take another Fire Marshal Training Course or a shorter refresher course. You will receive a new certificate at this point.
